much faster with the gears due to the torque multiplication of the gears (put to the ground). However, if you were to just look at the RPM where boost is made, the turbos actually spool a little slower due to the decreased load on the engine. So (for instance), stock turbos may "light up" at 3,500 RPM, but with the gears, they may not really spool hard until 3,800 (I'm using approximate numbers for illustrative purposes). But the increase in acceleration due to the additional torque put to the ground more than makes up for the minimal loss in spool up characteristics. So, it feels like the turbos spool faster, but they actually don't, but the car accelerates quicker. Hope that makes some sense. Take care, Mark
